EPUB is the open standard for ebooks, but PDF is what you reach for when you want to print, annotate in desktop software, share a fixed layout, or hand a chapter to someone whose device doesn't have an EPUB reader. Converting locally means your ebook — and whatever's in it — stays on your machine.
An EPUB is a zip archive of XHTML chapters and a manifest. Morphix unpacks the archive in your browser with JSZip, walks the spine in reading order, extracts the text from each chapter, and lays it out as a paginated PDF using jsPDF. No upload, no queue, no server — everything happens on your device.
DRM-protected ebooks (like those purchased from Kindle or Apple Books) can't be converted. Morphix only works with standard, DRM-free EPUB files.
